Comparison of TriTech Airless Sprayers - The Delorean of Airless Pumps

airless paint sprayer from TriTech

abril 21, 2023

What is an airless paint sprayer?

Airless paint sprayers use hydraulic force created by a pump to force paint through a tip with a metered orifice at high pressure. This results in the break up of the paint material into a spray pattern that’s distributed in an even coat and can be layered to meet your preferred thickness. There are a lot of tip sizes that also allow the operator to select the flow rate and the fan width of the spray pattern.

Why choose TriTech airless paint sprayers?

All TriTech airless paint sprayers are made in the USA. When compared to similar airless sprayers, TriTech airless paint sprayers are preferred in the industry because of their advanced construction and precise applications.

TriTech units are also constructed of all stainless steel and aluminum metal exteriors making them more durable and easier to clean than plastic exteriors.  This feature alone makes them stand out above all others on the market….sort of the Delorean of airless sprayers.

How many TriTech airless paint sprayers does Total Finishing Supplies carry?

Total Finishing Supplies carries six (6) T-series airless paint sprayers - the T3, T4, T5, T7, T8, T9, and T11. All of the TriTech airless paint sprayers have precision motor control (PMC).

What is precision motor control?

Precision motor control or PMC matches the motor speed to the pressure and tip size selected by the user. This allows for no pulsation at any pressure with any size tip, giving your project a uniform finish.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of an airless sprayer?

Advantages

  • Airless sprayers are very portable and typically plug into a conventional 120V outlet. (220V Available)
  • No compressed air is used or required.
  • They can spray very thick and viscous materials and a very fast volume.
  • Single hose to the gun. So best ergonomics of any spray gun series.
  • Available in extremely high pressure ratings. It could spray peanut butter if you needed too!

Disadvantages

  • Due to the relatively course spray, airless guns are not the first choice for many fine finishing applications. However, that is changing with the development of things like TriTech Ultra tips and the pump's ability to hold and maintain low fluid pressures, something that has not been possible in the past by electric airless pump systems from other brands.
  • Airless guns are not HVLP compliant and therefore are not legal to use in a factory setting where pairing operations occur regularly. In fact any area that has an air quality district would strictly prohibit the use of a typical airless gun. You could however use an air-assisted airless gun like the TFS MAMBA with an additional compressed air source and meet the HVLP air quality district's requirements.
  • Airless systems also take a bit of material to load as compared to a gravity cup gun or comparable guns. So you may only want use an airless system on projects where you are going to spray a gallon or more. TriTech offers a gravity hopper for small runs so that you can utilize every last drop possible. How does the TriTech portfolio of airless paint sprayers compare to Titan's or Graco's portfolio?

The chart below compares the TriTech airless paint sprayer portfolio with that of Titan (red) and Graco (blue). Notice that in each instance, TriTech has a higher flow rate (measured in GPM or gallon per minute) at nearly or exactly the same tip size as the competition.

MAMBA Air-Assisted Airless Manual Paint Spray Gun - 2900 PSI (200 BAR)

The MAMBA Mix Tech 200 bar manual spray gun delivers exceptional performance, value, and finish quality. With a high transfer efficiency, the MAMBA Mix Tech uses the TriTech reversible Ultra Tips, which are already known to be the best airless tips in the industry. We then take it farther by introducing a small amount of atomizing air to create an even finer spray pattern than is achievable with airless only. The gun is so comfortable and can be used for both airless and air-assisted styles of spraying.
