Ball valves are used to start, stop, or regulate the passage of liquids, gases, and vapors within a piping system. It achieves this by utilizing a spherical ball with an inner bore, which can be rotated. This ball is positioned between two seats and connected to an operating and control mechanism through a shaft, enabling precise control over the flow.  Ball valves are better suited for smaller flow rates and can be used to cut the flow of fluid without turning off the pump.
