Description: The Flow Stop / Pump Runaway Valve is a pneumatic safety control designed to protect air-operated pumps from excessive operating speeds caused by an empty material container, a broken fluid line, or another condition that causes abnormal air consumption.

Installed in the pump’s compressed-air supply, the valve continuously responds to airflow through the system. When airflow exceeds the preset operating threshold, the valve automatically shuts off the air supply to the pump, helping prevent uncontrolled pump cycling, excessive wear, equipment damage, and unnecessary compressed-air consumption.

The trip point is adjustable, allowing the valve to be configured for the normal operating requirements of the pump and application. Once activated, the valve remains closed until it is manually reset, helping ensure the cause of the excessive-flow condition can be addressed before the pump resumes operation.
